Getting through the online noise

Well, anyone can do it, but it takes dedication and putting yourself out there in the most visible light possible.  Take a look at some ways to help you make it through the noise and come out on top, or at least on top of what you have been doing up until now especially if you are struggling at this point.

Be Yourself, Be Personable, and Be a True Testament of What you are Selling

Really, this has to be the most effective point. I remember starting out in a MLM business, and people would always say you have to be a product of the product. This can be for that type of business or your own type of business. You want them to actually see real results and when people have questions you gave give an honest answer. Plus, you don’t want to sound salesy, you don’t want to be the used car salesman that is just pushing the client to buy something. You want them to feel your energy, your passion. And there are so many tools that you can use online now such as Facebook Live where you can actually have a video broadcast in real time and answer questions, you can do short videos on something like Instagram or Snapchat, and Twitter you can post links to your videos. But make sure that you are real; people can feel you and your emotion. The more likable you really are in these, the more likely people are to follow you, which results in increased business.

Have a Blog and Keep On It

Having a blog can be additional work but if you are passionate about what you are doing it can only help you. You are an expert in what you are selling or in your business and you can write about that. You can write about your journey. I’ve also seen people get sponsored and offer giveaways and deals. Plus, with a blog you have the benefit of being able to use tags and SEO keywords in order to gain traffic. People will search for their interests and the as long as you are using it properly your site will show up on a search. It’s the best way (and allows for the most space and customization) to garner attraction to your business.

Know Your Audience

You have to know who you are marketing to with your business. It’s not just going to be your family and friends, but online you can have connections with anyone in the world. So know the target that you are looking for, men, women, moms, homeowners, pet owners, etc. Whatever the case may be you have to ensure that you market directly to them.

Be Consistent

However you start out, make sure to be consistent. Be consistent with posting, be consistent with why you are running a business on your own, be consistent with remaining active. If you go dormant, so will your following and therefore your business. But if you stay engaged daily, keep up with the times, you are guaranteed to have some success.  The more practice you have, and failures that you have, the better you will get.

Bottom line is this, don’t quit. Being able to successfully navigate the online noise on a daily basis is hard, but the more you do it, the better you will get. It’s trial and error. When you realize something isn’t working, try something else, and once you find that marketing strategy that gets you follows, embrace it and run with it. And good luck.
