You can help but feel hungry the minute you enter Mint Leaf Lounge. The aromatic smells draw you in. The decor is minimalist and stylish. The place is deceivingly large. We were excited about the prospect of authentic flavours.
There were plenty of groups dining at 7.30pm giving the restaurant a great vibrancy. It was dim lighting with candles and serious ceiling lights, and dark wood furniture. It did feel a little crammed in yet great to feel part of their dining experience.
Opting for the set menu there were some delicious choices. First up though, the cocktail – all part of the meal deal offer. The cocktails and mocktails were flavoursome and moorish.
The starters were divine. Delicious. Just enough sauce on the side to buffer the spicy options. Good clean food and wonderfully prepared. It’s not up there with the Michelin options yet it’s good. Definitely a go-to restaurant.
You couldn’t help but notice the other diners. There was plenty of noise, chat, laughter. The place was full of city workers, possibly making the most of its near Bank station location.
As usual despite there being a completely different group for the evening it was as though we’d all known each other for ages. We had a great time, plenty of girly chuckles and some oh so serious conversation too (less of the latter!)
The staff were extremely
accommodating and despite us being the last table left at the end of the night, it was still an enjoyable environment and perfect for a group meal, business and even for a chat with friends. The only downside – it was too dark to take good photographs!
